TTR Women's Sport Initiative

Launching of the TTR Women’s Golf League

With the intent of moving forward towards empowerment, representation, and inclusivity, we are proud to introduce the TTR Women’s Golf League, a program dedicated to creating opportunities for women in sports in our community.

This initiative was created as part of the TTR Women’s Sport Initiative and the shared vision that women needed a space to grow, compete, and connect through sport.

More than just a league, this initiative is about reclaiming spaces, building confidence, and strengthening cultural connections through sport. It provides a welcoming environment where TTR Women, regardless of experience level, can come together, learn the game, and challenge themselves in new ways. Through mentorship, training, and competition, this initiative will help develop strong female athletes while fostering leadership and community engagement.

As we embark on this journey, we invite all women members to take part in this movement. Whether you are new to golf or an experienced player, this golf league is a place for you. Together, we are breaking down barriers, paving the way for future generations, and proving that the greens are for everyone.

Join us as we make history, one swing at a time!

After several discussions throughout the program’s implementation process, the ladies selected golf as their sport of choice based on the following:

Inclusive and Accessible: Golf can be played by people of all skill levels, ages, and physical abilities. It allows for a wide range of participants to enjoy the sport, fostering inclusivity within the group.

Social Opportunities: Golf is well-known for its social aspect. It’s a game that provides time for conversation, making it ideal for team bonding, and building relationships, which could be a priority in this program.

Physical and Mental Benefits: Golf provides low-impact exercise, promoting cardiovascular health and endurance. The sport also requires focus and strategy, enhancing mental sharpness and stress relief.

Flexible Environment: Golf can be played in various formats, from individual play to team competitions. This allows the group to be flexible in how they want to engage, whether they’re focused on casual play or more structured competitions.

Empowerment: Golf has strong ties to personal development. The skills developed on the course—patience, strategy, and discipline—translate well to personal and professional growth, making it a sport that can empower women in both personal and professional spheres.

Time Outdoors: It encourages spending time outdoors in a calm and scenic environment, promoting overall well-being and providing a healthy balance between physical activity and mental relaxation.
